rhop·try (rōpґtre) [Gr. rhopalon club] in apicomplexan protozoa, either of two electron-dense, paired, tubular, saccular, or club-shaped organelles that arise anteriorly, extend toward the posterior end of the body of the organism, and form part of the apical complex. Called also toxoneme.
