SnO2; used in industry; it is a cause of pneumoconiosis. SYN: tin oxide.

a compound found in nature as the mineral cassiterite, or produced through a reaction between tin and concentrated nitric acid at high temperatures. Used as a polishing agent for glass, metals, and especially to produce a high polish on metallic dental restorations. Called also tin oxide.
