stomatocytosis
A hereditary deformation of red blood cells, which are swollen and cup-shaped, causing congenital hemolytic anemia. SEE ALSO: Rh null syndrome.

sto·ma·to·cy·to·sis (sto″mə-to-si-toґsis) the presence of stomatocytes in the blood, as seen in liver disease, Rh null syndrome, a rare congenital type of hemolytic anemia, and a few other conditions. Called also hydrocytosis.
