stru·vite (strooґvīt) [Baron Heinrich Christian Gottfried von Struve, German-born Russian diplomat, 1772–1851] a hard crystalline mineral formed by interaction of magnesium salts with ammonium phosphate, closely allied to and often associated with triple phosphate. It is the main component of struvite calculi. Called also magnesium ammonium phosphate.
