sym·me·lia (sĭ-meґle-ə) [syn- + -melia] a developmental anomaly characterized by an apparent fusion of the lower limbs. There may be three feet (tripodial s.), two feet (dipodial s.), one foot (monopodial s.), or no feet (apodal s. or sirenomelia).
