Condition of parallelism between the planes of the fetal head and of the pelvis, respectively. [G. syn-klino, to incline together]

syn·clit·ism (sinґklit-iz-əm) [Gr. synklinein to lean together] 1. parallelism between the planes of the fetal head and those of the pelvis. 2. normal, synchronous maturation of the nucleus and cytoplasm of blood cells. Cf. asynclitism. Called also syncliticism.
