tra·chy·onych·ia (tra″ke-o-nikґe-ə) [Gr. trachys rough + onych- + -ia] roughness of the nails with brittleness and splitting, usually associated with psoriasis, alopecia areata, or lichen planus. Called also twenty-nail dystrophy.
