An animal that transmits a toxic substance that it does not produce, but that may be accumulated from animal (dinoflagellate) or plant (algae) sources; e.g., filter-feeding mollusks.

trans·vec·tor (trans-vekґtər) an organism that conveys or transmits a poison which is not generated in its own body but is obtained from another source, such as the mussel, Mytilus, which serves as a transvector of paralytic shellfish poison derived from the dinoflagellate Gonyaulax.
