un·gu·li·grade (ungґgu-lĭ-grād″) [ungula + L. gradi to walk] characterized by standing or walking on hooves (the tips of the toes); applied to certain quadrupeds known as ungulates, including horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, and deer. Cf. digitigrade and plantigrade.
