D'Arsonval current

D'Arsonval current
D'Ar·son·val current 'där-sən-.vȯl-, -.val- n a high-frequency oscillating current of low voltage and high amperage used in diathermy
Ar·son·val ȧr-sōn-vȧl Jacques-Arsène d' (1851-1940)
French biophysicist. D'Arsonval did pioneering work in electrotherapy. In 1892 he introduced the use of high-frequency currents to treat diseases of the skin and mucous membranes. The current is now known as the D'Arsonval current.
