Syndrome, phantom limb

Syndrome, phantom limb
In the phantom limb syndrome, a person continues to feel sensations, usually including pain, in an arm or leg long after the limb has been amputated. Phantom sensations can occur in any of the senses. People who have lost much of their vision often experience visual phantoms. Phantom limb syndrome is relatively common in amputees, especially in the early months and years after limb loss.
