Barosinusitis
Sinus troubles, particularly with pain, due to changing atmospheric pressures, as when going up or down in a plane. Also called aerosinusitis or sinus barotrauma.

Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the paranasal sinuses caused by pressure difference within the sinus relative to ambient pressure, secondary to obstruction of the sinus ostium and occurring during descent in altitude. SYN: aerosinusitis. [G. baros, weight, pressure, + sinusitis]

baro·si·nus·itis (bar″o-si″nəs-iґtis) inflammation and pain of one or more paranasal sinuses (usually the frontal sinus) due to difference in pressure between the surrounding atmosphere and the air within the sinus cavity; it occurs on ascent to or descent from a high altitude, such as in an airplane, when the opening into the sinus is obstructed. Called also aerosinusitis and sinus barotrauma.
