Schatz·ki ring 'shats-kē- or Schatz·ki's ring -kēz- n a local narrowing in the lower part of the esophagus that may cause dysphagia

a fibrous, annular constriction of the lower esophagus, usually at the junction of the esophageal and gastric mucosa; in some persons it is congenital and in others it results from scar tissue. Called also esophageal or lower esophageal r.
