sodium citrate n a crystalline salt C6H5Na3O7 used chiefly as an expectorant, a systemic and urinary alkalizer, a chelator to increase urinary excretion of calcium in hypercalcemia and lead in lead poisoning, and in combination as an anticoagulant (as in stored blood)
