a beta blocker used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), long-term prophylaxis after an acute myocardial infarction, and glaucoma. It is administered by mouth or in solution as eye drops; side-effects include decreased heart rate, hypotension, and dizziness. Trade names: Betim, Blocadren, Timoptol.
