a test for detecting the presence of sugar in urine; it has now been replaced by better and easier methods. It uses Fehling's solution, of which there are two components: Fehling's I (a copper sulphate solution) and Fehling's II (a solution of potassium sodium tartrate and sodium hydroxide).
