Hunter-Schreger bands

Hunter-Schreger bands
the dark and light lines visible under reflected light in a ground section of a tooth, which terminate at the dentinoenamel junctions, coinciding with the enamel prism curvatures. The dark bands are known as diazones, and the light ones as parazones.
