toxoplasmic chorioretinitis
a unilateral or bilateral condition seen most often as a late sequel of congenital toxoplasmosis, with recurrent episodes of ocular pain and decreased vision with progressive visual loss; there are deep, heavily pigmented, necrotic lesions in both the macular and peripheral retina, as well as posterior uveitis. Called also ocular toxoplasmosis and toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis.
