MacConkey agar

MacConkey agar
an agar medium containing peptone, lactose bile salts, sodium chloride, neutral red, and crystal violet, used to differentiate lactose fermenters (coliforms) from non–lactose fermenters among the enteric bacilli. Called also MC a.
