peptone–yeast extract–glucose medium
a liquid medium containing peptone, yeast extract, glucose, resazurin, L-cysteine, and salts, used as a transport medium for anaerobes. It may be supplemented with hemin and vitamin K1, and used to prepare broth cultures of anaerobes for gas-liquid chromatography. Called also PYG m.
