ovarian cycle

ovarian cycle
that part of a menstrual cycle or estrous cycle which involves physiologic changes in the ovary, including development and rupture of the follicle, discharge of the oocyte, and corpus luteum formation and regression. It is divided into the follicular phase and the luteal phase. Called also oogenetic c.
