cy·clo·dex·trin (si″klo-dekґstrin) any of a group of nonreducing cyclic compounds obtained by the enzymatic hydrolysis of starch, designated α-, β-, and γ-cyclodextrins; used as complexing agents and in the study of enzyme action.
