dalteparin sodium
dal·tep·a·rin so·di·um (dal-tepґə-rin) an antithrombotic prepared from heparin sodium derived from porcine intestinal mucosa; it enhances the inhibition of factor Xa and thrombin by antithrombin. It is administered subcutaneously for the prevention of pulmonary thromboembolism and deep vein thrombosis in patients who are at risk for thromboembolism undergoing abdominal surgery.
