B lymphocyte stimulatory factors

B lymphocyte stimulatory factors
(BSF) a system of nomenclature for factors that stimulate B cells, replacing individual factor names (e.g., B cell differentiation factor). Each factor is designated by BSF and a number, BSF1, BSF2, etc., with the letter p prefixed to the number for factors that have not been purified or whose structure has not been identified. BSF1 is interleukin-4 and BSF2 is interleukin-6.
