urinary anion gap
the amount of urinary anion not routinely measured by laboratory screening, which accounts for the difference between the routinely measured anion and cation, equal to sodium + potassium − chloride. It is an indirect measure of ammonium excretion and is used in the evaluation of hyperchloremic acidosis.
