radial glia

radial glia
a special type of glia in the developing central nervous system, whose cells have radial processes extending through the entire thickness from the ventricular surface to the exterior cortical surface; neurons formed on the ventricular surface are thought to migrate along these processes to their final positions in other parts of the cortex.
