lethal midline granuloma

lethal midline granuloma
a progressive, localized, destructive process of the face, occurring chiefly in males; it involves predominantly the nose, paranasal sinuses, and palate, with erosion through contiguous structures such as the orbit and face and destruction of soft tissue, bone, and cartilage. There is also associated nonspecific acute and chronic inflammation, as well as necrosis with or without granuloma formation. Called also g. gangraenescens and midline g.
