peptide group

peptide group
the bivalent radical, CO·NH, formed by reaction between the NH2 and COOH groups of adjacent amino acids, and by such linkage building up compounds known as dipeptides, tripeptides, tetrapeptides, etc., depending on the number of amino acids making up the molecule.
