tibial hemimelia

tibial hemimelia
hemimelia of the lower limb in which the tibia is primarily affected, ranging in severity from mild hypoplasia to total absence of the tibia. The proximal fibular head may be displaced, and the knee is flexed and may lack extension. It may occur as an isolated anomaly or as part of a larger syndrome. Most cases are sporadic but autosomal dominant and recessive patterns of inheritance have been reported.
