psyllium husk
[USP] the cleaned, dried seed coat from the seeds of Plantago ovata, P. psyllium, or P. indica; used as a bulk-forming laxative, and as a dietary adjunct in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia. It also has a wide variety of uses in ayurveda and folk medicine.
