ketotic hypoglycemia
the most common form of childhood hypoglycemia, characterized by episodic hypoglycemia, ketonuria, convulsions, and vomiting occurring in the early morning after carbohydrate deprivation; it generally begins between 18 months and 5 years and resolves spontaneously by 9 years of age.
