Old World leishmaniasis
Old World cutaneous leishmaniasis any of the types of cutaneous leishmaniasis occurring in Asia, Africa, or the Mediterranean basin. Three separate types are distinguished according to the causative organism: anthroponotic cutaneous or dry cutaneous leishmaniasis, zoonotic cutaneous or wet cutaneous leishmaniasis, and Ethiopian cutaneous leishmaniasis. The condition has had many different names, often according to the locality of its occurrence (see under boil).
