acute megakaryocytic leukemia a form of acute myelogenous leukemia in which megakaryocytes are predominant and platelets are increased in the blood, often with fibrosis consisting of reticulin; it can occur at any age. Called also megakaryoblastic l. and megakaryocytic l.
