leu·ko·ar·ai·o·sis (loo″ko-ar″e-oґsis) [leuko- + Gr. araios thin + -osis] areas of hyperintensity of white matter visible on radiographic images of the brain, indicating thinning of those parts; seen particularly in elderly persons and those with Binswanger disease.
