intermediate-density lipoprotein
(IDL) a class of lipoproteins formed in the degradation of very-low-density lipoproteins; approximately half are cleared rapidly from the plasma into the liver by receptor-mediated endocytosis; the other half are further degraded to form low-density lipoproteins.
