lysyl oxidase

lysyl oxidase
ly·syl ox·i·dase (liґsəl okґsĭ-dās) an enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of lysine and hydroxylysine residues to the corresponding aldehydes, a step in the formation of covalent crosslinks in collagens and elastins. The reaction requires pyridoxal phosphate and Cu2+.
