malate dehydrogenase (oxaloacetate-decarboxylating) (NADP+)

malate dehydrogenase (oxaloacetate-decarboxylating) (NADP+)
ma·late de·hy·dro·gen·ase (ox·alo·ac·e·tate-de·car·box·y·lat·ing) (NADP+) (maґlāt de-hiґdro-jən-ās ok-sal″o-asґə-tāt de-kahr-bokґsə-lāt″ing) an enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of L-malate to form pyruvate, reducing NADP+>. The cytosolic and mitochondrial forms are isozymes; the cytosolic enzyme is a major source of NADPH for fatty acid synthesis.
