follicular mucinosis

follicular mucinosis
a disease of the pilosebaceous unit, usually on the scalp, face, or neck, caused by mucinous infiltration of tissues; it presents clinically as grouped follicular papules or plaques with associated hair loss and may be either a primary condition or secondary to lymphoma or occasionally other conditions. Called also alopecia mucinosa.
