Mycobacterium microti


Mycobacterium microti
a species producing generalized tuberculosis in field mice and also infecting guinea pigs, rabbits, and calves. It is not virulent for humans and has been used for the preparation of experimental vaccines. Called also vole bacillus and M. tuberculosis var. muris.
