naf·cil·lin so·di·um (naf-silґin) [USP] a semisynthetic, acid- and penicillinase-resistant penicillin, used as an antibacterial in severe staphylococcal infections caused by penicillinase-positive organisms; administered orally, intramuscularly, or intravenously.
