glossopharyngeal neuralgia
neuralgia affecting the petrosal and jugular ganglia of the glossopharyngeal nerve, marked by severe paroxysmal pain originating on the side of the throat and occasionally extending to the ear. Rarely, attacks may be associated with cardiac slowing or arrest, and syncope.
