orgotein
or·go·tein (orґgo-tēn) a group of water-soluble congeners derived from red blood cells, liver, and other tissues, of molecular weight about 33,000 with compact conformation maintained by about 4 gram-atoms of divalent metal; produced from beef liver as a copper-zinc mixed chelate having superoxide dismutase activity. It has antiinflammatory properties and has been injected locally in the treatment of degenerative joint disorders.
