Entner-Doudoroff pathway

Entner-Doudoroff pathway
a series of enzymatic reactions in bacteria that convert glucose to pyruvate by way of the intermediate 2-keto-3-deoxy-6-phosphogluconate, forming ATP. It is the major pathway of glucose metabolism in certain strains of Pseudomonas.
