compensatory pause
the pause in impulse generation occurring after an extrasystole, designated as full if the sinus node is not reset and the total length of the aberrant plus the following cycle is equivalent to that of two normal cycles, or incomplete, less than full, or noncompensatory if the sinus node is reset and the normal cycle length disrupted.
