sclerosing peritonitis

sclerosing peritonitis
any of several rare complications of long-term peritoneal dialysis; the peritoneum becomes either opaque or tan, wrinkled, and dry. Severe forms, which are often fatal, include formation of a fibrous sac around the small intestine (sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis), intestinal obstruction, and calcification of the peritoneum. Called also peritoneal sclerosis.
