Cap·ri·pox·vi·rus (kapґrĭ-poks″vi-rəs) [L. caper, gen. capri goat + poxvirus] a genus of viruses of the subfamily Chordopoxvirinae (family Poxviridae) with serologic cross-reactivity, comprising the sheeppox, goatpox, and lumpy skin disease viruses.
