pyostomatitis vegetans

pyostomatitis vegetans
a variant of dermatitis vegetans involving the oral mucosa, sometimes seen in association with ulcerative colitis or some other gastrointestinal disturbance. The primary lesions are miliary abscesses that tend to form groups and become proliferative, soft, red, folded, and verrucous, sometimes spreading over the entire oral cavity. They may remain confined to the mouth or may coexist with typical dermatitis vegetans.
