- [TA] parasympathetic root of ciliary ganglion: a short collection of fibers passing from the inferior branch of the oculomotor nerve to the posterior inferior portion of the ciliary ganglion; it contains preganglionic parasympathetic fibers for the sphincter papillae and the ciliary muscle. Called also r. oculomotoria ganglii ciliaris [TA alternative], ramus nervi oculomotorii ad ganglion ciliare [TA alternative], and motor, short, or oculomotor root of ciliary ganglion.
