[TA] posterior branches of sacral nerves: branches of the five sacral spinal nerves, emerging from the sacrum through the posterior foramina; they subdivide into medial and lateral branches (see r. medialis rami posterioris nervi sacralis and r. lateralis rami posterioris nervi sacralis). Called also rami dorsales nervorum sacralium [TA alternative].
