nuclear ring

nuclear ring
nucleoplasmic ring an octagonal array of protein subunits located on the nucleoplasmic side of the nuclear pore, each unit having a filament that extends into the nucleoplasm; the filaments are joined together at the ends by a terminal ring to form a basketlike structure (nuclear basket), which may mediate transport out the nucleus through the nuclear pore complex.
